Articles

Another way to grasp the Future – Engage – Deliver framework may be to look at the short article about it that I wrote for the London Business School. The article also features its use at Boots where we have done some tremendous leadership development work with the top few thousand leader/managers.

Books

If you want to do some more reading about leadership, there are many books of value. In truth, I'd prefer you to be out there practising your leadership rather than reading about it. However, if you want to do some further reading, you might look at:

Leaders Warren Bennis.
This is a sentimental choice. It was the first book I read after deciding being a leadership coach was the path for me. It's over 20 years old but still relevant.

The Tao of Leadership John Heider.
This is probably my favourite book on leadership. It's so elegant in how it focuses on the required 'being' of a leader.

I'll Show Them Who's Boss Gerry Robinson.
In contrast to Heider's elegance, Robinson gives you his absolute no-nonsense view.

Others to consider include:

In Search of Leaders
Hilarie Owen

The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook
Peter Senge and others

The Leadership Challenge
Kouzes and Posner

The Leadership Engine
Noel Tichy

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Stephen Covey

The Servant-Leader Within
Robert Greenleaf
